Free EdinburghJS meetup for web developers with talks on building a self-editing website, internal tools and a Bash-to-TypeScript story.
EdinburghJS is back at Perk on Tuesday 20 October, the city's main JavaScript community meetup. It's a free night, open to anyone who writes for the web, and it runs monthly throughout the year. The format is kept low-key: two talks followed by questions, with the room staying on afterwards to chat. The Perk café setting keeps the whole thing closer to a conversation than a conference.
This month's theme is the unglamorous work that eats up real engineering time. Phil Holden talks about building a self-editing website, and Alexey Golev covers building internal tools. Rishav Dhar adds a third talk, a Bash-to-TypeScript story. It's a night for front-end and full-stack developers to compare notes without a vendor in the mix, and it'll sit best with web developers, agency teams and anyone maintaining a CMS someone else has to use.
The series is presented by the Scottish Technology Club, a community for technologists in and connected to Scotland. They run regular developer events, publish a weekly bulletin of events, content and jobs from across the country, and maintain an active Discord server.
