Hands-on pastry workshop with chef Amrita Krishnakumar to make a no-bake key lime pie.
Amrita Krishnakumar is hosting a no-bake pie workshop at The Cookbook Shop on Friday 23 October, from 7:30pm to 9:00pm. It's a hands-on session, so you'll be doing the work yourself rather than just watching: everyone makes a no-bake key lime pie from start to finish. The whole thing is kept relaxed, and you'll leave with your own pie to take home.
Krishnakumar is a pastry chef, formerly of Knead a Little Love Bakery, and she's bringing more than just the recipe to the table. She'll have pie tasters and goodie bags on hand, and she'll be sharing stories from her years living the Great British Bake Off dream and running home-bakery pop-ups. It's as much about the chat as it is about the baking, so you'll get a bit of the background that goes into a professional kitchen along with the practical steps.
The workshop is aimed at over-16s, and she describes it as a way to brighten up a chilly Edinburgh evening — which, given the date, is a fair point. It runs for an hour and a half, and you'll be working in the shop itself, not a separate classroom, so it's a proper look at how things come together in a kitchen setting.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Edinburgh and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.
