Art therapy workshop led by Nyree of Roots are Fuzzy to make a mythical zine, with no previous art experience needed.
Roots are Fuzzy are running a mythical zine-making workshop at Renroc Cafe on Sunday 25 October, from 4pm to 6pm. It's a two-hour session led by art therapist Nyree, and the whole thing is built around the idea of creative play rather than any particular finished product.
Roots are Fuzzy is a new art collective, and they describe their workshops as being grounded in play, experimentation and exploration. This one asks you to lean into the shifting seasons, the darkness and an otherworldly energy to make your own mythical zine. There are no expectations and no rules, and you don't need any previous art experience to join in — all the materials are provided, so you just need to turn up. It's the kind of thing that's more about the process of making than getting it right, which is exactly what they're after.
One practical thing to keep in mind: the venue isn't wheelchair accessible, and the workshop takes place downstairs at Renroc Cafe, 89 Montgomery Street, EH7 5HZ. If that's a problem, it's worth knowing before you head over.
