Sound healing session with gongs, crystal and Tibetan bowls led by a certified practitioner, described as deeply hypnotic and meditative.
Zenergy Sound Healing is hosting a multi-instrumental sound bath at Tollcross Community Centre on Friday 27 November, from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. It's a ninety-minute session, and you'll spend most of it lying down, letting the sound do the heavy lifting rather than having to follow along or do anything in particular.
The session is led by a certified sound healing practitioner who's also a hypnotherapist and meditation teacher, with a first-grade classical music school diploma in piano. She works with a wide range of artisan-made instruments: gongs, a monochord, high-frequency crystal and Tibetan bowls, drums and shakers. There are no digital effects or electronic processing involved, so what you hear are the authentic vibrations of the instruments themselves. She draws on her background in hypnotherapy and past-life regression to compose each session from scratch, so the character, atmosphere and flow change from one to the next. She describes the result as deeply hypnotic and meditative, designed to activate delta and theta brainwaves and help the body switch into healing frequencies for regeneration and deep rest.

There's no previous experience needed, so you don't need to have done a sound bath or a meditation class before to fit in. You'll just need to bring your own yoga mat and a blanket to keep you warm while you lie there. The session runs from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at Tollcross Community Centre, 117 Fountainbridge, Edinburgh EH3 9QG, and tickets are £20.
