Networking event of the Midlothian Tourism Forum on 'Active Midlothian', with an update on the Tour de France Grand Etape 2027.
MTF Business and Networking is at the Melville Castle Hotel on Thursday 22 October, from 10:00 to 12:00. It's the Midlothian Tourism Forum's first networking session of autumn 2026, and this one is built around 'Active Midlothian' — the outdoor and activity side of the region's tourism.
The main thing on the agenda is the Tour de France Grand Etape 2027, which starts in Edinburgh. Neil Christison, Regional Director for Edinburgh and Lothians, will be leading an update on it, so if you're working in tourism or hospitality around here, it's a good chance to hear where things stand with one of the biggest events coming to the city. Alongside that, there's a local activity update from Go Ape, one of the area's outdoor suppliers, and the rest of the morning is for networking with other people in the sector.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Edinburgh and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

It's a morning session rather than an evening one, which suits if you're running a business and can't easily get away after hours. The venue is Melville Castle Hotel on Gilmerton Road, EH18 1AP, in Midlothian. It's free for MTF members, and non-members working within Midlothian tourism and hospitality are welcome to sign up too. That covers the basics: Thursday 22 October, 10:00 to 12:00, at Melville Castle Hotel.
