Samhain creative workshop with gentle movement, breathwork, meditation and mandala painting to make personal 'sacred ciorcals'.
The Salisbury Centre is hosting a Movement and Mandala Samhain Workshop on Monday 2 November, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. It's a two-hour session that weaves together gentle movement, mandala painting and folklore into a bit of creative self-exploration, all built around Samhain.
If you're not familiar with it, Samhain is one of the four Celtic festivals, marking the beginning of winter and a celebratory time of change. The workshop follows that theme through four parts: a folklore introduction, movement and breathwork, a meditation and a closing connection circle. The bulk of the time is spent painting, drawing or crafting personal 'sacred ciorcals' using paints, black ink pens, pencils and natural elements like leaves and rocks. It's less about producing a masterpiece and more about the process of making something for yourself.
Two people are running it. Rachael is a psychologist and artist who works from an interest in mindful, creative self-expression. Kate is a qualified yoga teacher who's currently studying the Celtic Wheel festivals and the sacred sites of the British Isles. Between them they cover the movement, the making and the folklore side of things, so you'll get a bit of each throughout the evening.
