Annual meeting of the MND-SMART trial management team to discuss the latest developments in the MND-SMART research trial.
The MND-SMART Gathering comes to the South Hall Complex at Pollock Halls on Friday 30 October, running from 12:00 to 20:00. It's an annual meeting run by the MND-SMART Trial Management Team, and this year the University of Edinburgh and the Euan MacDonald Centre for MND Research are listed as organisers alongside them.
The day brings together researchers from across the trial sites and the teams supporting trial delivery behind the scenes. It's framed as an opportunity to discuss the latest trial developments and what lies ahead as the research advances, so it's a gathering of the people working on the study rather than a public presentation. The trial itself is a major piece of work on motor neurone disease, and this is the point in the year when the different sites and the support teams get in the same room to talk through where things stand.

Registration is required to attend, and the University has noted that images or video from the day may be used to promote its activities. It's free to go, so if you're involved with the trial or the research around it, you just need to sign up. The South Hall Complex is part of Pollock Halls, at 18 Holyrood Park Road, EH16 5AR, and the session runs from midday through to 8pm.
