Late-night party celebrating the intersection of club culture, live performance and contemporary art.
Microsteria returns to People's Leisure Club on Saturday 31 October, starting at 23:00 and running through to Sunday 1 November. It's a late one, so it's more of a night out than a standard gig.
Microsteria describes itself as celebrating the intersection of club culture, live performance and contemporary art. It's been running since 2023, and it's built a reputation for immersive events shaped by electronically mutated music, visual art, costume and performance — what they call temporary ecosystems of sound, image and movement. If you've caught a previous edition, you'll know it's not just about the music; the visuals and the performance are as much a part of it as the sound.
Past editions have featured Maranta, Mermaid Chunky, Tony Njoku, The Umlauts, Bikini Body, Salam Kitty, Sarah/Shaun and Pako Vega, alongside collaborations with visual artists and performers from across Scotland's underground arts community. That mix of club, live performance and visual art is what they're known for, so you can expect a similar blend this time around.
