Weekly, free drop-in 12-step support group for LGBTQIA+ people affected by substance use, held every Monday at Duncan Place Community Hub.
LGBTQ+ Narcotics Anonymous meets at LGBT Health and Wellbeing on Monday 26 October, from 18:30 to 19:45. It's a weekly group, so this is just one of the Monday sessions they run. The meeting is held at the Duncan Place Community Hub, 4 Duncan Place, Edinburgh, EH6 8HW.
It's a fellowship of LGBTQ+ people for whom drugs have become a major problem, working from the 12-step model developed by Narcotics Anonymous for people with varied substance use disorders. The only requirement for membership is the desire to stop using. It's a community-led group supported by LGBT Health and Wellbeing, and it welcomes the full diversity of the LGBTQIA+ umbrella — non-binary, queer, intersex and asexual people, as well as those unsure of or unlabelled in their orientation or gender identity.
The group is part of LGBT Health and Wellbeing's free programme of LGBTQ+ meetups and support groups across Scotland. The venue offers an all-gender toilet, wheelchair access and gender-neutral toilets under the organisation's safer spaces commitment. There's no advance registration needed — you just drop in.
