Afternoon of piano playing by amateurs of all levels on a Steinway grand piano, with a supportive audience welcome.
The Edinburgh Piano Meetup Group is back at the Edinburgh Society of Musicians on Saturday 7 November, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. It's an open session for amateur pianists of all abilities and ages, so if you've been playing around at home and fancy taking a piece out in public, this is a good place to start. The group describes it as a chance to gain performance experience in front of a friendly, supportive crowd of fellow pianists, which is exactly what it sounds like: a low-stakes way to get used to playing for people without the pressure of a formal recital.
The session is open to all levels, and you don't have to play to take part. Audience members who'd rather listen than perform are welcome, so if you're just there for the music, that works too. The venue, the Edinburgh Society of Musicians, houses two Steinway grand pianos and looks out over Dean Village, so you'll be playing on a Steinway Model B.
