Touring show from the Kendal Mountain Festival pairing short films about outdoor adventures with live talks from adventurers.
Kendal Mountain Festival is bringing its live tour to the Traverse Theatre on Wednesday 21 April 2027. It's the touring arm of the Kendal Mountain Festival, which they describe as a celebration of adventure, outdoor culture and storytelling. The festival itself is well-known, and this tour takes that same spirit to stages across the country, with Edinburgh as one of the stops on the national circuit.
Each night follows a set format. You'll see a selection of award-winning short films that showcase breathtaking landscapes and bold expeditions, paired with a live talk from an inspiring speaker fresh from their own adventures. Alongside them, local representatives talk about how they're opening up the outdoors to their own communities. It's a mix of film, first-hand storytelling and a look at how outdoor culture works on the ground, rather than just a single presentation.
There's also a bit of a bonus for anyone who goes: ticket holders stand a chance to win outdoor and adventure equipment from the tour's sponsors. It's a small thing, but one that fits the whole theme of the night.
