Interior Design Masterclass

Aleksandra J. Hannah is running an interior design masterclass at The Scotsman Hotel on Saturday 23 January 2027, a full day for anyone who loves interiors or wants to design like a pro. Hannah is an Edinburgh-based interior designer and the founder of Skela Studio, and she describes the session as a way of opening up how designers actually work. You don't need any previous experience to join in, so it works as much for a complete beginner as for someone who's already spent years tinkering with their own rooms.

The day takes you through the whole process from start to finish. You'll begin by writing a design brief, then move on to finding and editing inspiration, and figuring out your own personal interior style. From there, Hannah walks you through the different design styles and how to work with colour, pattern, texture and materials. The whole thing builds towards creating a moodboard, and you'll leave with yours finished, along with a clearer sense of your own style and the confidence to make design decisions on your own.

It's a proper full-day thing, running from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm, with doors opening at 10:20 am. Lunch is included, and there's tea and coffee throughout the day to keep you going. All the materials you'll need are provided, so you just need to turn up. Tickets are £187, and if your plans change, you can get a refund up to 30 days before the date.
