Free literature exhibition at Out of the Blue Drill Hall in Leith based on the 35-year career of Kenny Redmond from Innovative Books.
Innovative Books are taking over Out of the Blue Drill Hall on Saturday 7 November for a one-day fair. It's a literature exhibition built around the 35-year career of Kenny Redmond, the man behind the name, so it's as much a retrospective as it is a book fair.
Inside, you'll find new books, brochure ideas and engineering designs to look through. There's also a bit of a swap going on: free books are available in exchange for a considered charity donation, so if you've got a few pounds to spare, you can walk away with something to read. Dogs are welcome, too, which makes it an easy one to bring the whole household along for.
The venue itself is the home of Out of the Blue, an independent cultural social enterprise and one of Scotland's leading community, cultural and arts development organisations. Since it started, its mission has been to provide opportunities for artists and others who face barriers to creativity to meet, work, participate, learn and develop skills, and then pass them on to the local community. It's a Company Limited by Guarantee with charitable status and two trading subsidiaries, The Bongo Club Ltd and Out of the Blue Productions.
