Tyson Kelly, the former 'Bootleg Beatle', plays John Lennon with a five-piece band in an evening of Lennon and McCartney music.
Tyson Kelly is playing as John Lennon at La Belle Angele on Thursday 22 October, with the show presented by Regular Music. It's an evening built around Lennon's music, with Kelly taking the lead and a five-piece band backing him throughout.
Kelly has spent more than 15 years playing the part, and he's well known for it. He played Lennon in Broadway's Let It Be and in The Bootleg Beatles, which is billed as the UK and world's number one Beatles tribute. That long run has left him as a look and sound-alike who captures Lennon's voice, presence and artistry. The performance is described as an elegant journey through the music of Lennon and McCartney, and with a full five-piece band behind him, it's a full-band set rather than a solo turn.
It's a night for anyone who knows the songs and wants to hear them played by someone who's made a career out of getting the voice and the manner right. The set draws from the Lennon and McCartney songbook, so you'll be hearing the familiar melodies that defined the Beatles and Lennon's solo years, played with a full band.

Doors open at 6:30pm, and general admission is £27.50. One thing to keep in mind is that it's for ages 14 and over only, so it's not a night for the very young. If you're a fan of the music and fancy a night in the city, that's the one.
