Beginner-friendly Halloween fire dancing workshop with Iga, with spooky face paint and props, no previous experience needed.
Iga is running a beginner-friendly fire dancing workshop at Sainsbury Shop at Clerk St on Tuesday 27 October, from 6:30 pm to 7:45 pm. It's pitched as an alternative to a night at the pub for anyone who wants to do something a bit different this Halloween.
If you've never touched a prop in your life, that's fine. Iga guides the group step-by-step through the basics of spinning fire safely, so no previous experience is needed. The session leans into the holiday: spooky face paint and creepy looks are encouraged, and Iga brings along spooky props and elements to build the atmosphere, which should give you plenty of opportunities for some memorable Halloween photos.
There are a few safety requirements to keep in mind before you turn up. Hair needs to be tied back or covered, and you'll need to wear natural fabric clothes like cotton, wool or jeans — ideally in darker colours. It's the kind of thing that's easy to sort if you know in advance, rather than figuring it out on the night.
