One-to-one 60-minute sewing workshop for complete beginners with an experienced Hobbycraft colleague, suitable for ages 14 and over.
Hobbycraft in Edinburgh is running one-to-one sewing workshops, and the next one is on Tuesday 27 October. It's a 60-minute session, just you and an experienced Hobbycraft colleague, which means you get the whole hour to focus on exactly what you're stuck on rather than following a group class. If you've got a machine sitting in a cupboard because you're not sure how to thread it, or you've managed to get a few straight lines going but want to move on to something more useful, this is a good way to bridge that gap.
The session is pitched at complete beginners, so there's no need to have any prior experience. You can use the time however you like: getting your machine set up and running, learning a specific sewing technique, or just getting a handle on the basics. One of the better bits is that you can send over the topics and areas you want to focus on before the session, so your colleague can have things ready to go when you arrive. It's an adults workshop, suitable for ages 14 and over.

It's a one-off 60-minute slot, so you can fit it around your day without committing to a full course. The session costs £28, and the voucher is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase, with the recipient booking their date within that period. It's available across 98 Hobbycraft locations in the UK on a variety of dates and times, so if the Edinburgh store doesn't work for you, there are plenty of other options to choose from.
