One-to-one 60-minute sewing machine session with an experienced Hobbycraft colleague, suitable for complete beginners from age 14.
Hobbycraft in Edinburgh is running one-to-one sewing workshops, with a session on Friday 30 October. It's a 60-minute slot where you get a Hobbycraft colleague all to yourself for an hour of bespoke guidance on the sewing machine, rather than a group class where you have to keep pace with everyone else.
The whole thing is aimed at adults and is suitable for complete beginners, from age 14 and over. Because it's one-to-one, you can take it at your own speed. If you've just bought a machine and aren't sure how to get it started, they can help you set it up. If you've been sewing for a while and there's a specific technique you've been struggling with, you can spend the hour working through that. You can even send over the topics and areas you want to focus on ahead of the session, so your colleague can prepare in advance and you can get straight into it.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Edinburgh and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

It's sold as a gift voucher for £28, which is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase, and you book your date within that window. The experience is available at 98 Hobbycraft locations across the UK, with a variety of dates and times in each store, so you can pick a slot that actually fits your schedule. The Edinburgh store is one of them, and the session runs for 60 minutes.
