The wickedly funny musical Heathers arrives in Edinburgh for one week only as part of its UK & Ireland tour.
Heathers comes to the Festival Theatre from 23 to 27 March 2027, a one-week run as part of its UK and Ireland tour. It follows seasons in London and New York, and it's based on the 1988 cult film that starred Winona Ryder and Christian Slater.
The story is set at Westerberg High and follows Veronica Sawyer, who's taken under the wing of three beautiful and impossibly cruel Heathers. Things shift when J.D., the mysterious teen rebel, teaches her that while it might kill to be a nobody, murder can make you a somebody. Critics have described it as High School Musical's darker, dirtier cousin.
The book, music and lyrics are by Tony Award nominee Laurence O'Keefe and Kevin Murphy. It's produced by Bill Kenwright and Paul Taylor-Mills, the team behind the stage adaptation of Carrie, and directed by Andy Fickman with choreography by Gary Lloyd. The production runs about two hours and thirty minutes including an interval, and it's recommended for ages 14 and over.
