Two Halloween ghost walks led by North Edinburgh Nightmares through Leith and the Old Town, with local legends and supernatural scares.
North Edinburgh Nightmares are running two ghost walks across the city on Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 October, both starting at 7.30pm. They're a couple of themed tours through Edinburgh's darker side, each one taking a different part of town, so you can do one or both if you're feeling it.
The first is the Haunted Leith Ghost Walk on Tuesday 27 October, which meets at Tower Place and runs from 7.30 to 9pm. The second is the Old Town Terror Tour on Wednesday 28 October, starting at the Kirk Tron entrance and running from 7.30 to 9pm. Between them, they cover a fair bit of ground across the city.
Both walks are led by North Edinburgh Nightmares, who guide you through a string of local legends. Among them are the city's witch burnings, the Lost Boys of the underground city, and Leith's own ghostly Cat-man, with supernatural scares thrown in along the way. It's a good way to hear some of the more macabre bits of Edinburgh's past while you're actually out in the streets they happened in.
