Half Man Half Biscuit, the satirical indie rock band from Birkenhead, play The Liquid Room in Edinburgh.
Half Man Half Biscuit play The Liquid Room on Friday 9 April 2027, with doors opening at 19:00. It's a headline show, so they're the only act on the bill.
If you've never come across them, Half Man Half Biscuit are a satirical indie rock group from Birkenhead, formed in 1984 and fronted by Nigel Blackwell. They've built a devoted cult following over decades of releases on Probe Plus, and they're known for a dry wit, obscure pop culture references and surreal social commentary. They've stayed on the fringes of the industry, shunning traditional promotion and remaining a fixture of British post-punk and indie music.
That cult following has its own archive, too. Since December 2009, Chris Rand has run a fan-led 'Lyrics Project' documenting their work, which has grown into a gig archive built from scanned cuttings and photos of pre-2000 tickets and posters sent in by fans. It's the kind of band that people follow for the long haul rather than the latest single.
