Social gentle 5k run around Leith Links and the Restalrig Railway Path, followed by a pint at Malone's, part of the EdinBar Runners Tuesday night sessions.
EdinBar Runners are out in Leith on Tuesday 27 October for their usual mid-week session. It's a gentle 5k run followed by a drink, and it's open to anyone who fancies a trot through the neighbourhood without the pressure of a race. The group meets at the Robert Burns statue on the corner of Bernard Street and Constitution Street, with the run itself looping around Leith Links and out along the Restalrig Railway Path, before heading back to finish at Malone's on Constitution Street.
If you're not familiar with them, EdinBar Runners are a social running group that keeps things low-key. They run twice a week: Sunday evenings in the Meadows and Tuesday evenings in Leith, and both follow the same format — a gentle run followed by a pint and a chat in a local pub. You go at your own pace, and there's a back marker on every outing, so you won't be left behind if you're not exactly sprinting. It's more about the social side than the PB.
Beyond the regular sessions, they also put on charity runs and the BagelRun, and you can keep track of what they're up to on Instagram @edinbar_runners. If you're thinking of joining in, they suggest high-visibility clothing and a head torch for the darker months, which is a fair shout for a Tuesday night in October.
