GameDevEd Social Meetup

GameDevEd are back at OX184 Bar on Tuesday 27 October, from 18:00 to 21:00. It's a social meetup for Edinburgh's games community, run as a fortnightly Tuesday evening by GameDevEd, and it's open to all ages, stages and disciplines. That means students and hobbyists sit alongside triple-A veterans, community managers, musicians and artists, as well as anyone else working in or around games.

The format is an informal pub social rather than a talks night. While it's set in a bar, nobody's obliged to drink, and you don't need to bring anything with you. That said, anyone working on something is encouraged to show a video or a demo to an eager audience, so if you've got a clip or a build you're proud of, it's a good place to get it in front of people who'll actually get it.

It sits alongside Edindies' Saturday co-working at LEVELS on Holyrood Road as the other half of the city's games-community rhythm: one for working, the other for talking. The organisers note that games hiring and collaboration in Scotland run almost entirely on who people know, and this is the most regular room in Edinburgh where that happens.

It's free and there's no ticket to book. You'll find it at OX184 Bar, 184-186 Cowgate, Edinburgh, EH1 1JJ, from 18:00 to 21:00.
