Small-group storytelling experience through the true history of the Scottish Witch Trials, with four drams of Scotch whisky paired to each woman's story.
Untold Stories of Scotland's Condemned Women runs at The Lost Close in Edinburgh's Old Town on 20, 21, 27 and 28 November, with each session starting at 7:30pm. It's a 90-minute experience that works its way through the true history of the Scottish Witch Trials, focusing on the lives of four real women who were accused, condemned and executed for witchcraft.
The storytelling is rooted in historical fact and carefully researched, and it pushes past the myths and folklore that have grown around witchcraft over the centuries to get to the human stories at the heart of one of Scotland's darkest periods. As the stories unfold, you're served four specially selected drams of Scotch whisky, each from a different Scottish whisky region and paired to reflect the character, spirit and story of each woman. The whole thing is set in the atmospheric backdrop of The Lost Close, at 1 Barrie's Close in the Old Town.
