Festive Mini Tray Casting Workshop

We Make Edinburgh is hosting a festive mini tray casting workshop on Friday 20 November, from 7pm to 9.30pm, at their Abbeyhill studio. It's a hands-on evening where you'll work with sustainable eco-resin to cast your own mini tray to take home as a handmade gift. The session is run by Polymorphics, the design studio behind it.

If you've never heard of terrazzo, that's where the night starts. You'll find out what it is, how to work with eco-resin, how to mix colours, and how to add gold leaf before you cast your own tray. The whole thing is pitched at all skill levels, so it works whether you're a seasoned artist or a complete beginner. You leave with a finished piece you've made yourself, which makes it a decent shout for an early Christmas present.

We Make Edinburgh has been running creative workshops at the Abbeyhill studio since 2019. The sessions come from Lucy, the designer and tutor behind Polymorphics, and Amy, who runs The Edinburgh Craft Club. Together they specialise in independent craft workshops across Scotland and also plan private parties, team-building sessions and special events. The club markets its workshops as fun craft parties for adults and children, and there's a private booking option if you want to bring your own group along.

The workshop runs from 7pm to 9.30pm on Friday 20 November at We Make Edinburgh, 18 Montrose Terrace, Abbeyhill, Edinburgh East EH7 5DL. It's £33 for one or £62 for a set of two.
