Monthly coffee meetup for founders, freelancers and small business owners to have real conversation, with no pitching, hosted by Ben Stickland and Gerry Forristal.
Founders Coffee Club is back in Edinburgh on Thursday 12 November, from 10:00 to 11:00 at Jamaica Yard, 3 Jamaica Street, EH3 6HH. It's a monthly coffee meetup for founders, freelancers and small business owners, and this one falls on the second Thursday of the month, which is when the club always meets.
If you've ever been to a corporate networking event and walked away feeling like you'd just spent an hour exchanging business cards with people who didn't really listen, this is the opposite. The club runs a strict 'no pitching' policy: no speeches, no presentations and no sales pitches. It's just coffee and conversation with people who actually get what building a business is like. Ben Stickland and Gerry Forristal host, and they handle the introductions so you're not left hovering awkwardly by the coffee machine while everyone else seems to know each other. New faces turn up every month alongside a growing regular crew, so it's as easy to drop in for one as it is to make a habit of it.
Ellis Group is the accountancy and fractional CFO partner for the club, and the venue itself, Jamaica Yard, is a flexible workspace. If you're looking for a place to work, the organisers can introduce you to their facilities discounts. And if you're not ready to head back to your own desk after the hour is up, there's the option to stay and co-work for the rest of the morning.
