Free charity art show by Scottish artists, with at least half of the proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support, in its 24th year.
The Edinburgh Macmillan Art Show returns to the Cornerstone Centre from Friday 20 November to Sunday 22 November, marking its 24th year. It's a long-running fixture of the city's autumn calendar, and this edition is no exception. The show runs from 11:00 to 16:00 on Friday, and 10:00 to 16:00 on Saturday and Sunday, so there's plenty of room to fit it in around your weekend.
It's a Scottish art show through and through, bringing together established names and emerging creatives under one roof. The work is curated by Sharon Quigley, and the whole thing is run by a team of volunteers. Every artist who takes part donates at least 50% of their sale proceeds directly to Macmillan Cancer Support, so if you do find something you want to take home, a good chunk of the price goes to the charity. That money helps Macmillan provide practical, emotional and financial support to people living with cancer and their loved ones.
There's some history behind it too. First launched in 2002, the show has become a milestone in Macmillan's fundraising for Scotland, showcasing hundreds of artists and welcoming thousands of visitors over the years. To date, it's raised £581,467.44 for the charity. If you can't make it in person, the exhibition continues online until 4 December, so you can still have a look and support the cause from home.
