Over-18s Halloween party with monstrous performers, spine-chilling décor and big beats at the University of Edinburgh Students' Association.
The Asylum returns to Potterrow on Friday 30 October, the University of Edinburgh Students' Association. It's billed as Edinburgh's biggest Halloween event, and the venue does a fair bit of the heavy lifting: the site is described as a place of darkness and unspeakable experiments locked up for decades, and the night leans into that history with spine-chilling décor, monstrous performers and big beats. It runs for one night only, with last entry at 11pm.
Fancy dress is strongly encouraged, so it's the kind of night where you're better off putting in the effort than turning up as yourself. Entry is restricted to over-18s, and there's no student requirement, so it's open to anyone over the age of eighteen regardless of whether you're still in education. One listing notes the event has sold out ten years running, which gives you a rough idea of the scale it usually hits.
