Exclusive over-18s night at Thistle Street Bar with a flight of three Scotch malt drams and tales of old Edinburgh.
Thistle Street Bar is running Drams & Tales on Monday evenings throughout November and December 2026, with each session lasting 90 minutes. The one listed is Monday 23 November, starting at 8:00 PM. It's a night the bar puts on itself, and for the occasion they close their doors to the general public, so you're in with a small group rather than the usual pub crowd.
The format is simple: a Scotch malt whisky flight of three drams from independent bottlers, paired with dark, historic tales of old Edinburgh told around the fire. The stories are the other half of the evening, and they're all rooted in the city's past. Between the three pours and the storytelling, it's a slow-paced, seated affair rather than a tasting where you're just ticking off bottles.

Places are strictly limited to ten people per session, so it stays small. The experience is for over-18s only. If you're after a quiet Monday night in the city, it's a good shout—three drams and a few old Edinburgh stories, all in one go. The session on Monday 23 November starts at 8:00 PM at Thistle Street Bar, 39 Thistle Street, Edinburgh EH2 1DY.
