The Muppets stage Disney's A Christmas Carol while an orchestra plays the score live to the film, on the UK tour stop at the Usher Hall.
Disney's The Muppet Christmas Carol in Concert comes to Usher Hall on Thursday 3 December, with the film's score performed live by an orchestra. It's a screening of the 1992 movie, The Muppet Christmas Carol, but instead of the recorded soundtrack, the music is played live in the room while the film runs on screen. The Edinburgh date is one stop on a 15-date UK tour running this festive season.
On screen, the Muppets take on Charles Dickens' holiday tale. Kermit the Frog is Bob Cratchit, Michael Caine plays Ebenezer Scrooge, and Gonzo—appearing as Dickens himself—narrates alongside Rizzo the Rat. Miss Piggy is Emily Cratchit, Fozzie Bear is Fozziwig, and Robin the Frog is Tiny Tim. The original score was written by Miles Goodman, with songs by Paul Williams, including 'Rainbow Connection' and 'Evergreen'.
