Award-winning flamenco guitarist Daniel Martinez returns to the UK with the premiere of 'Al Compas del Querer' at the Usher Hall.
Daniel Martinez is back in Edinburgh on Friday 22 January 2027, playing the Usher Hall with his flamenco company. He's touring Al Compas del Querer, his new album and production, and this is its UK premiere.
It's a personal one. Martinez describes it as his most intimate production yet, with each composition dedicated to a person or a chapter of his life. If you've followed his work, that's a shift from the broader themes he's touched on before. He's an award-winning flamenco guitarist, and this is the latest record from him.
He's been on a run since 2023. The Daniel Martinez Flamenco Company has played out across the UK with three productions: his debut album Art of Believing, which picked up a Herald Angel Award at the Edinburgh International Festival; Andalucia, which gathered a fair few five-star reviews; and Art of Andalucia, which toured through 2025. Over the last three years, the company has reached more than 120,000 people across Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland, and beyond. This show is part of the company's UK tour.
