Annual festive craft 'along' with two stations of sustainable DIY gifts, including paper-folded baubles, mini notebooks and star book decorations.
Creative Coorie In: A Festive Workshop runs at The Heart of Newhaven on Thursday 3 December, from 6pm to 9pm. It's the annual festive craft 'along' put on by Cass of Bookbinding with Cass and Lorna of Ink on Mesh, and the format is a bit different from your usual class: rather than sticking to one project all night, you move between different crafting stations.
At each stop you make something sustainable and unique. There are paper-folded baubles made using screen-printed papers, mini leather or pleather notebooks, and fold-out star book decorations. Cass and Lorna frame them as one-off DIY gifts, so you'll leave with a few things you can actually wrap up and give away. The whole point is that you're not just sitting in one spot; you're drifting from one station to the next, picking up a few different skills as you go.
It's run by the two of them together—Cass from Bookbinding with Cass and Lorna from Ink on Mesh—and the evening is held at The Heart of Newhaven, a community venue in Leith (4-6 Main Street, EH6 4HY) that also hosts Cass's other workshops, like Back To Back Bookbinding. If you've been to her bookbinding sessions before, this is a more festive, multi-tasking version of that.
