Mozart's opera Così fan tutte performed by the Orchestra of Scottish Opera, with audio description and touch tour available.
Scottish Opera brings Mozart's Così fan tutte to the Festival Theatre on Saturday 29 May, with a second performance on Wednesday 2 June. It's part of their 2026/27 season, and this particular production is a first: a co-presentation between Scottish Opera and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland's new Advanced Artist Diploma in Opera. The cast is made up of international singers from that diploma, so you're seeing them in their final months of study, stepping straight into a professional production. Music Director Stuart Stratford, who's a regular guest tutor at RCS, has been helping train the next generation of conductors along the way.
As for the opera itself, Così fan tutte is a social satire with a libretto by Da Ponte. Two high-society men are challenged by a cynical friend to a bet, and they set in motion a day of disguises and deception with their fiancées, while the servants downstairs pull the strings of the rich and mighty. It's sung in Italian with English supertitles, so you can follow the plot even if you don't speak the language. The staging is described as a colourful, stylised, and stylish world where not all is as it seems.

Both dates start at 7.15pm, and the running time is around 2 hours 55 minutes, including a 20-minute interval. If you're heading to the Wednesday show, there's a pre-show talk at 6pm. Tickets range from £28.25 to £60.00.
