Daytime coffee rave by Common Ground held at Fir Espresso Bar on Fountainbridge in Edinburgh.
Common Ground are back with another daytime rave on Saturday 24 October, this time taking over Fir Espresso Bar in the heart of Edinburgh. It's a collaboration with the venue itself, and as the name suggests, it's a rave that happens while most people are still having their morning coffee.
If you've been around for their previous daytime sessions, you'll know the format: dance music in a space that usually spends its hours serving flat whites and pastries, with the whole thing wrapped up well before the afternoon is over. It's a different kind of rave from the one that starts at midnight and runs until the sun comes up, and that's exactly the point. It's for the people who want the dancefloor without the all-nighter, and for anyone who'd rather be dancing on a Saturday morning than nursing a hangover.
Fir Espresso Bar is the spot this time, and it's right in the city centre, so it's easy enough to get to whether you're coming from the West End or over from Leith. The session runs from 11:00 to 13:00, two hours of music to get you moving before the rest of your Saturday even kicks in. If you're used to the usual rave hours, it's a bit of a shift, but that's the whole appeal — you're in and out by lunchtime, with the rest of your day still ahead of you.

Tickets start from £10, and the whole thing is on Saturday 24 October from 11:00 to 13:00 at Fir Espresso Bar, Unit 4, 2 Fountainbridge Square, EH3 9QB. If you've been wanting to try a daytime rave, this is a good place to start.
