An unplugged evening of Christmas music and carols led by the Christian ministry Origin Scotland at the Usher Hall.
Origin Scotland are playing Usher Hall on Saturday 5 December, one of two Christmas dates they've got lined up this year. The other is the following evening, Sunday 6 December, at Findlay Church in Glasgow. Both are unplugged evenings of Christmas music, so you'll be hearing things stripped back rather than amplified.
Origin Scotland leads the night, but they aren't on their own — they're joined by a host of musicians and singers, so there's a fair bit of variety across the bill. The set is built around a traditional retelling of the Christmas story, and the music follows that thread. You'll hear new Christmas songs alongside the timeless carols most of us already know, and there's singing along to the older ones. It's a mix of things you'll be discovering for the first time and things you've probably heard since you were small.
For a bit of context, Origin Scotland is a Christian ministry based here in Edinburgh. They describe themselves as dedicated to unity in the Church of Jesus Christ and to outreach to the world through praise and worship events, and this night fits right into that. The whole thing is an unplugged affair, so it's acoustic music rather than a big production, with the retelling of the Christmas story running through the evening.

If you're in Edinburgh, the date is Saturday 5 December at Usher Hall on Lothian Road. If Glasgow is easier, they're at Findlay Church, 56 Clarendon Place, on Sunday 6 December. Both nights follow the same format: Origin Scotland and a host of musicians and singers performing an unplugged evening of Christmas music built around a traditional retelling of the Christmas story, with new songs and carols to sing along to.
