Over-18s standing tasting evening at Cockburns of Leith with more than 100 wines and spirits to sample.
Cockburns of Leith are hosting their Christmas Wine & Spirits Fair at The Place Hotel on Friday 20 November, from 20:30. It's their biggest tasting event of the year, timed for sorting out your festive-period wine needs and marking 230 years of wines and spirits.
Over the course of the evening, you'll sample more than 100 wines. The selection brings together house classics and specially selected bottles from around the globe, so you can work your way through the regulars and the more adventurous finds in one go. There's a range of spirits too, with suppliers on hand to talk you through them. If you're looking to stock up for the holidays, it's a good place to taste a fair few options before deciding what to take home.
Cockburns of Leith is Scotland's oldest wine merchant, founded in 1796, and was named 'Best wine shop in Scotland' at the 2023 Decanters Retail Awards. This fair is their main event of the season, and the 230-year milestone adds a bit of weight to the occasion.

Tickets are £30. It's a standing event for over-18s only, so keep that in mind if you're planning your night. The Place Hotel is at 34-36 York Place in Edinburgh New Town, and the tasting starts at 20:30 on Friday 20 November.
