Concert of four influential voices in Celtic music, led by fiddle player Duncan Chisholm, at The Queen's Hall.
Chisholm, McGoldrick, O'Connor and Byrne play The Queen's Hall on Friday 6 November, bringing together four of the most influential voices in Celtic music for a single night in Edinburgh. It's a shared bill rather than a band, so you'll get each of them taking their turn on stage.
Duncan Chisholm is one of Scotland's most recognised fiddle players, and his style is rooted in the Highlands where he was born and raised. He's known for a cinematic, expressive way of playing that carries a fair bit of that landscape with it. Back in the 1990s, as a founding member of the folk-rock band Wolfstone, he helped push Scottish traditional music into a more modern sound. Since then, he's worked largely on his own, and his solo Strathglass Trilogy — Farrar (2008), Canaich (2010) and Affric (2012) — is widely regarded as a masterpiece. He's picked up Album of the Year at the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards multiple times, been nominated for BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, and received an Honorary Doctorate from the University of the Highlands and Islands in 2023.

He shares the bill with McGoldrick, O'Connor and Byrne, so the night is built around four distinct names from the Celtic tradition playing in the same room. The concert starts at 7:30pm at The Queen's Hall, 85-89 Clerk Street, EH9 9JG. Tickets are £35, which includes a 10% booking fee per ticket and a £2 transaction fee.
