Hands-on Thai cooking masterclass for two at Chaophraya, with a welcome drink, a demonstration and a private meal of what you cook.
Chaophraya in Edinburgh runs a Thai cooking masterclass for two on Sundays throughout the year, so it's an easy one to slot into a weekend. It's led by professional chefs from the Thai cookery school, and the whole thing takes about two and a half hours, including the health and safety briefing.
You start with a welcome drink and a demonstration before moving into the hands-on part, where you and your partner each cook a starter and a main. Along the way, there's an introduction to Thai ingredients and techniques, so you'll walk away knowing a bit more about what's actually going into the pans. Once the cooking is done, you sit down at a private dining table and eat what you've made. All the equipment and aprons are provided, so you don't need to bring anything but yourself.

People who've done it have described the class as well-taught and well-organised, and a few have mentioned taking leftovers home to enjoy the next day. It's open to over-18s, and the voucher is valid for 12 months from purchase, which makes it a decent shout for a gift if you're not booking it for yourself. The cost is £199 for two people.
