Quarterly in-person gathering for people developing ideas and building communities, with supper, guided introductions, a talk and an Open Space session.
Catalysing Connections returns to The Melting Pot on Wednesday 20 January, the first of its gatherings for 2027. It's a quarterly in-person event that's been running in Edinburgh since 2022, built around collaboration, community and learning. It's aimed at people developing ideas, building communities and instigating positive change.
The evening runs for about two and a half hours and follows a set format. It kicks off at 5.30pm with a supper for food and informal connections, then moves into guided introductions at 6pm. At 6.30pm comes The Catalysts, and from 7.30pm it opens up into an Open Space, where the conversation can go wherever it needs to.
Two people run the whole thing. Eileen Inglis supports social entrepreneurs and student founders and is developing The Conversation Project. Lynn Houmdi is a social entrepreneur and Scotland's Flex Influencer 2022, creator of Making Work Work – for Women Returners and founder of Flexible Working Scotland. Together they've been holding these gatherings across the city for several years now.
