The Jam icon Bruce Foxton and Secret Affair live at The Queen's Hall.
Bruce Foxton and Secret Affair play The Queen's Hall on Friday 20 November, a double bill that brings together two names from the mod revival era. Foxton is the main draw here, and he's not appearing alone: he'll be backed by Mark Brzezicki on drums, Craig Joiner on guitar and vocals, and Andy Fairclough on keyboards.
Foxton's career goes back nearly five decades. He first made his mark as bassist, vocalist and songwriter for The Jam, where he wrote and sang lead on 'News of the World', 'Smithers-Jones' and the Kinks cover 'David Watts'. After the band split, he put out the solo album Touch Sensitive in 1984, then spent more than 15 years touring and recording with Stiff Little Fingers. In 2007, he reunited with ex-Jam drummer Rick Buckler and guitarist and vocalist Russell Hastings to tour as From The Jam.
Secret Affair formed from the ashes of the power-pop band New Hearts and built their name on sell-out shows at the Bridge House in Canning Town, London, alongside a high-profile support slot on The Jam's 1979 tour. They went on to score five Top 40 singles and three acclaimed LPs before splitting in 1982. The night is presented by AGMP Concerts.
