Beginner-friendly hands-on workshop to preserve pressed flowers in epoxy resin and make three botanical keepsakes.
BRSHES is hosting a pressed flower epoxy resin workshop on Sunday 17 January, from 3 pm to 5 pm. It's a winter-inspired session, so you'll be working with seasonal flowers and taking home three botanical keepsakes. A professional artist leads the whole thing, guiding you through how to preserve pressed flowers in crystal-clear epoxy resin and showing you the pouring techniques needed to get it right. You pick from three pre-selected, seasonally inspired moulds and can add pigments, glitters and inks to your creations, so you'll walk away with three one-of-a-kind pieces to collect once they've set.
It's set in a cosy studio and welcomes makers of all skill levels, so you don't need any previous resin experience to join in. The session is two hours long, and the focus is on the hands-on part—actually making the pieces rather than just watching. If you've never worked with resin before, this is a good way to get a feel for it without having to buy all the gear yourself.
BRSHES itself is a drop-in craft studio and gift shop at 197 Gilmore Place, EH3 9PW. They run weekly guided workshops for more complex activities, alongside a menu of crafts you can pick and make yourself from a pre-made kit. It's beginner-friendly and BYOB, and the space can be hired for private functions like hen dos, birthdays or group celebrations. Their gift shop stocks whimsical, handmade artisan items—greeting cards, crystals, ceramics, jewellery, incense and tarot cards.
