BRSHES Edinburgh: Mystery Craft Night

BRSHES Edinburgh is running its Mystery Craft Night on selected dates between 9 September 2026 and 17 March 2027, from its studio at 197 Gilmore Place. The whole thing is built around a bit of a gamble: you don't know what you'll be making until you turn up. Each session works with a different project, and the range is wide — one night might be painting, the next punch needling, resin art or wood burning. They provide everything you need, and there's a professional artist on hand to guide you through it, so you don't have to worry about where to start.

It's set up as a relaxing, hands-on space for beginners, and they've got allocated tables for anyone coming on their own who'd like to meet other makers. Everyone leaves with a unique handmade keepsake, whatever the night's project turned out to be. If you're not quite ready for the mystery, the studio also runs 2.5-hour sessions using pre-made kits, and weekly guided workshops for more complex activities.

Beyond the workshops, BRSHES Edinburgh is an independent drop-in craft studio and gift shop. The shop stocks a curated selection of artisan gifts — greeting cards, crystals, ceramics, jewellery, incense and tarot cards — so it's easy to browse around before or after a session. The venue is beginner-friendly, BYOB, and can be hired for private functions like hen dos, birthdays or group celebrations.
