Free discovery day for people with type 1 diabetes with speaker sessions, peer support and an all-day technology exhibition, with children's entertainment.
Breakthrough T1D are bringing their Discovery Day to Hibernian Football Club on Sunday 29 November, from 9.30am to 1pm. It's part of a series of events the charity runs across the UK and online, free to attend, for people newly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes or living with the condition. It's built for individuals, families, healthcare professionals and anyone connected to T1D, and the morning mixes speaker sessions, peer support and a technology exhibition.
The speaker sessions bring together scientists, diabetes specialists and people living with the condition to talk about research, wellbeing and technology. Between those, there are peer-support sessions for sharing experience with others who get it. Running alongside the talks is an all-day technology exhibition where you can get hands-on with devices and speak to people from companies like Dexcom, Medtronic, Insulet and Abbott. Supervised children's entertainment is provided, so it's a family-friendly morning rather than one you have to leave the kids at home for.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Edinburgh and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.
