Core members of the classic 80s line-up of Blues 'n' Trouble reunite to play the band's favourites, boogie grooves and wild electric blues.
Blues 'n' Trouble are back at Ghillie Dhu on Sunday 22nd November, with the core of their classic 80s line-up reuniting for the first time in years. It's the first date of a tour that runs into 2027, so Edinburgh gets the opening night.
The line-up brings together John Bruce, Telecaster Dave, and Sean Scott, the three who formed the engine room of the band's 80s run. Joining them on vocals is Gary Martin, a long-time friend and regular stage guest of the group, who steps in as frontman for the reunion. Between them, they're playing the band's favourites, boogie grooves and wild electric blues — the sort of set that leans on the boogie and the louder, electric side of the blues rather than the quiet end of things.
It's a reunion of the classic 80s line-up, so the set is built around the material they played back then. The boogie grooves and electric blues are the two things they describe as the core of the night, and that's what they'll be working through. If you've followed them since those early days, it's a chance to hear that particular sound back on stage.
