Hands-on workshop to learn how to fix a bike puncture, open to cyclists of all levels, with attendees bringing their own bike.
The Wee Spoke Hub is running a bike puncture repair workshop on Saturday 31 October, from 11:00 for two hours. It's a hands-on session on how to fix a puncture and get yourself rolling again, and they've kept it open to everyone from seasoned cyclists to absolute beginners. If you've always relied on a shop or a friend to sort your tyres, this is the place to finally learn how to do it yourself.
The session is run by SHRUB Coop, who describe it as a fun, friendly workshop that walks you through the ins and outs of fixing a puncture. The whole point is to leave with the confidence to handle it on your own, so you're not stranded the next time you hit a bit of glass or a sharp stone on the road. It's a practical, do-it-yourself kind of morning, rather than just watching someone else demonstrate.
There are a few things to keep in mind before you head over. You'll need to bring your own bike along, so you're working on your own gear throughout the session. You're also asked to turn up in old clothes you don't mind getting dirty — it's a workshop, not a lecture, and there'll be grease and grime involved. And one important detail: you'll need a government-recognised photo ID to get in.
