Comedy play about George Wickham from Pride and Prejudice, performed by Adrian Lukis, the original actor from the BBC adaptation.
Adrian Lukis brings Being Mr Wickham to the Royal Lyceum Theatre on Thursday 1 July 2027, with matinee and evening performances at 2:30pm and 7:30pm. It's a one-man show that Lukis both wrote and performs, directed by Guy Unsworth.
The play centres on George Wickham, the roguish gentleman from Pride and Prejudice, on the eve of his sixtieth birthday. From there, he lifts the sheets on what happened thirty years after the events of the novel, offering his own version of some of the story's most famous moments: what really happened with Darcy, how he felt about Lizzie, what went down at Waterloo, and not to mention Byron. Lukis played Wickham in the BBC screen adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, and here he returns to the role as writer and sole performer.
