World stage premiere of the psychological thriller based on the novel by S.J. Watson, starring Giovanna Fletcher.
Giovanna Fletcher stars in the world stage premiere of Before I Go To Sleep at the King's Theatre on Tuesday 25 May 2027. It's the first time the story has ever been staged, adapted by Rachel Wagstaff from S.J. Watson's international bestselling novel. The book was turned into a hit film starring Nicole Kidman, so if you've seen that, you'll know the ground it covers.
The story follows Christine, who loses her memory every night and wakes up remembering nothing from the last twenty years of her life. As the days go on, hidden and terrifying truths begin to emerge. It's billed as a tense, fast-paced psychological thriller, and it spends its time on the fragile vulnerability of memory, identity and trust.
Fletcher is an acclaimed actor, author and podcaster, and she's taking the lead here. The production is staged by the team behind the hugely successful stage version of The Girl on the Train, so it's in the hands of people who know how to move a psychological thriller from the page to the stage. The play is recommended for ages 15 and over, and captioned and audio-described performances are available.
