Over-18s intimate, seated show by folk troubadour Beans on Toast celebrating his new album 'The Great Unravelling' and songs from his back catalogue.
Beans on Toast is back at The Voodoo Rooms on Tuesday 9 February 2027, part of a run of intimate, seated shows he's playing that month. He's touring his new album, The Great Unravelling, which he recorded on the banks of the Huon River in Tasmania. It's a soul-searching collection that ranges from distant galaxies to the magic of everyday life, and the set pairs songs from the new record with a handpicked selection from his expansive back catalogue.
If you're not familiar with him, he's a cult troubadour who writes simple songs that tackle big issues. He describes himself as 'a hippy, a punk, a poet, a drunk, a die-hard romantic and an eternal optimist', and his work runs from political protest songs for the modern day to honest love songs, all delivered with no-holds-barred lyrics and quick wit. The critics have had a field day with him: Louder Than War called him 'perhaps the defining voice of a generation', Maximum Volume described him as 'the absolute finest chronicler of humankind', and Frank Turner called him 'a proper folk singer'.
