A double bill of short mountain films from the Banff Mountain Film Festival, with a matinee and an evening screening at the Festival Theatre.
The Banff Mountain Film Festival returns to the Festival Theatre on Saturday 17 April 2027, with a brand-new collection of short films. It's a double bill across the day, so you can catch one or both: the Blue Programme matinee at 2.30pm and the Red Programme evening show at 7.30pm. If you're planning to do both, there's a two-show discount available, and they're promising free prize giveaways on the door.
The festival bills itself as the world's most prestigious mountain festival, and this year's programme is built around extreme journeys, untamed characters and captivating cinematography. The films are shot by some of the world's top adventure filmmakers and thrill-seekers as they climb, ski, paddle and ride into the wildest corners of the planet. It's presented as an invitation to spark a passion for adventure, action and travel, and the two separate programmes mean you can see twice as much in one day if you fancy it.
