Concert by Opera Caledonia of operetta and waltzes by Strauss, Lehár and others, with soprano Juliet Montgomery and baritone Aidan Edwards.
Opera Caledonia are bringing An Evening in Vienna to Stockbridge Parish Church on Saturday 28 November, a concert that takes you back to the world of elegant operetta and waltzes. It's part of the company's fundraising efforts, supported by Margaret Donaldson BEM.
The programme draws on the great Viennese names, with music by Strauss and Lehár and others. You'll hear selections from Die Fledermaus, The Merry Widow and Giuditta, alongside Ivor Novello's operetta The Dancing Years. It's a night of nostalgia and elegance, waltzing back in time through some of the most recognisable melodies of the operetta tradition.
On stage are soprano Juliet Montgomery and baritone Aidan Edwards, accompanied by The Opera Caledonia Ensemble, led by violinist Anthony Moffat and conducted by Derek Clark. The evening is recommended from age 10 upwards, with children needing their own tickets and the company of a paying adult.
