Daytime indie party for over 30s with DJs playing indie classics from the 70s to the early 2000s.
An Afternoon of Indie comes to La Belle Angele on Saturday 16 January, from 3pm to 7pm. It's the daytime version of Old School Indie, which they bill as the UK's biggest indie party for over 30s, and it's run in partnership with Feeling Gloomy and Age Against The Machine. The over-30s policy is strict, so you'll need ID to get in.
On the decks are Old School Indie DJs, and the set works through the decades. They start with 70s punk and 80s new wave, move into 90s Britpop and early 2000s indie, and pull from a long list of names: Bowie, Pulp, The Clash, The Jam, The Cure, Joy Division, Stone Roses, The Smiths, New Order, The Strokes, Supergrass, The Kinks, Franz Ferdinand, Nirvana, Ash, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Primal Scream, The Killers, Sultans of Swing, Buzzcocks, Ramones, The Specials, Blondie, Hole, Madness, La's, Weezer, The Cardigans, Housemartins, The Coral, The Undertones, Inspiral Carpets, Bloc Party, The Beatles, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Radiohead, Suede, Echo and the Bunnymen and Pixies. They also mix in rock n roll, soul, northern soul and ska.
